Our History

Established in July 1985 by the late Maurice Berry, a former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Jamaica, and wife, Doris ‘May’ Berry, Mayberry initially concentrated on trading shares on the Jamaica Stock Exchange.

However, significant investment opportunities soon emerged in Jamaica’s fixed-income market, and the Company actively developed this market, especially in Government of Jamaica Treasury Bills and Local Registered Stock.

Today, Mayberry is a full-service financial advisory and brokerage firm.

Mayberry was among the first financial institutions appointed a Primary Dealer by the Bank of Jamaica, thereby enabling the company to become a major player in the money market.

Licensed Offerings

In 1997, Mayberry became a licensed Cambio, facilitating the extension of the Company’s services into the foreign exchange market.

Since then, Mayberry has been at the forefront of raising US dollar loan funding for the Government and for corporate entities.

The Company has a client base of over 20,000 and funds under management of approximately $18B.

Mayberry is closely affiliated with international syndicates such as Oppenheimer & Co., Morgan Keegan, Bank of America, and Deutsche Bank. The staff consists of over 100 qualified professionals.
