Net International Reserves – March 2025

BOJ has reported that Jamaica’s Net International Reserves as at March 31, 2025 stood at US$5,785.44 million, reflecting an increase of US$312.40 million when compared to the US$5,473.05 million reported at the end of February 2025.

Foreign Assets totalled US$5,826.21 million, US$303.73 million more than the US$5,522.47 million reported in February 2025.

‘Currency & Deposits’ held by the BOJ as at March 31, 2025 totalled US$3,531.60 million, reflecting an increase of US$262.44 million compared to the US$3,269.16 million reported in February 2025.

‘Securities’ were valued at US$2,020.34 million; US$37.23 million more than the US$1,983.11 million reported at the end of February 2025. The country’s Special Drawing Rights increased to US$237.93 million relative to the US$234.40 million recorded a month prior.

‘IMF Reserve Position’ increased to US$36.34 million from the US$35.80 million reported last month. Liabilities to the IMF decreased by US$8.66 million to US$40.76 million against the US$49.43 million reported at the end of February 2025.

Presently, the country’s foreign exchange reserves are US$648.15 million, or 13% more than the US$5,137.29 million held by the BOJ at the end of March 2024. The current NIR supports approximately 48.05 weeks of goods imports and 30.76 weeks of goods and services imports.
