Unaudited financials for the first quarter ended July 31, 2026:
Lumber Depot Limited (LUMBER) for the first quarter ended July 31, 2026 reported a 4% increase in Revenue totalling $418.64 million compared to $401.54 million in the corresponding three months last year. Management noted that the improved revenue performance reflected the strength of the company’s brand, service levels and overall customer value proposition, despite a softer economic environment and challenges with the availability and pricing of key construction inputs.
Cost of Revenue amounted to $334.95 million (2025: $312.31 million), representing a 7% increase year over year. Consequently, Gross Profit decreased by 6% to $83.69 million compared to $89.23 million for the first quarter ended July 31, 2025. Management noted that gross margins were reduced by two percentage points during the period in an effort to maintain the company’s competitive position and support sales volumes.
The company recorded an Impairment Reversal on Trade Receivables of $577,559, compared to an Impairment Loss of $393,978 in 2025. Administrative and Other Expenses increased by 12% to $51.99 million from $46.37 million in the prior year. As a result, Profit from Operations for the first quarter amounted to $32.27 million, representing a 24% decrease relative to $42.45 million reported in 2025.
Other Income decreased by 13% to $1.56 million from $1.79 million in 2025. Consequently, Profit Before Net Finance Costs and Taxation amounted to $33.83 million, representing a 24% decrease from $44.23 million in the corresponding period last year.
Finance Income increased by 81% to $2.22 million from $1.23 million in 2025, while Finance Costs increased to $6.26 million from $2.12 million in the prior year. As a result, Net Finance Costs widened to $4.03 million compared to $888,500 in 2025.
Profit Before Taxation for the first quarter ended July 31, 2026 amounted to $29.79 million, representing a 31% decrease from $43.35 million reported in 2025. Taxation decreased by 35% to $3.55 million compared to $5.42 million in the prior year.
Consequently, Net Profit Attributable to Members, being Total Comprehensive Income for the period, amounted to $26.25 million, representing a 31% decrease from $37.93 million reported in 2025.
Consequently, Earnings Per Stock Unit for the first quarter amounted to $0.04 compared to $0.05 in 2025. The twelve-month trailing EPS was approximately $0.16, and the number of shares used in these calculations was 706,237,500.
Notably, LUMBER’s stock price closed the trading period on September 14, 2026 at $2.45. Using the twelve-month trailing EPS of approximately $0.16, this represents a P/E ratio of approximately 15.55x.
Balance Sheet Highlights
The company’s Total Assets amounted to $1.31 billion at July 31, 2026, representing a 30% increase from $1.00 billion in 2025. The increase was mainly driven by Property, Plant and Equipment, which rose to $371.86 million from $184.56 million, as well as the company’s Equity Investment in Atlantic Hardware and Plumbing Company Limited, which increased to $425.37 million from $377.38 million.
Shareholders’ Equity increased to $968.75 million from $865.98 million in 2025, representing a book value per share of approximately $1.37 compared to $1.23 in the prior year.
