Unaudited financials for the six months ended June 30, 2026:
Caribbean Assurance Brokers Limited (CABROKERS) for the six months ended June 30, 2026 reported a 2% decrease in Revenue totaling $259.63 million compared to $264.82 million in the corresponding period last year. Revenue for the second quarter had a marginal decrease to close at $150.13 million compared to $150.62 million for the comparable quarter of 2025.
Other Operating Income amounted to $19.81 million (2025: $21.64 million), this represents a decrease of 8% year over year. The Company also recognised a credit impairment recovery of $14.34 million (2025: nil), which lifted total operating income by 3% to $293.78 million compared to $286.46 million for the six months ended June 30, 2025. The company booked total operating income of $155.68 million for the second quarter versus $156.84 million reported for the similar quarter of 2025.
Year to date, Administrative and other Expenses decreased by 11% to close at $219.99 million (2025: $247.33 million), while Selling Expenses increased by 203% from $27.48 million in 2025 to $83.36 million in the period under review. As a result, total operating expenses for the six months ended June 30, 2026 amounted to $303.35 million, a 10% increase relative to $274.81 million reported in 2025.
Operating Loss for the six months ended June 30, 2026, amounted to $9.57 million relative to operating profit of $11.65 million reported in 2025. Operating Profit for the second quarter amounted to $12.42 million (2025: $8.14 million). Finance Costs totaled $9.65 million, an 88% increase from the corresponding period last year (2025: $5.15 million).
Pretax Loss for the six months ended June 30, 2026, amounted to $19.23 million, relative to pretax profit of $6.50 million reported in 2025. Pretax Profit for the second quarter amounted to $8.06 million (2025: $4.81 million).
No tax charge was incurred in the period under review (2025: nil). Net Loss for the six months amounted to $19.23 million (2025: net profit of $6.50 million). For the second quarter, Net Profit was $8.06 million (2025: $4.81 million).
Consequently, Loss Per Share for the six months amounted to $0.07 (2025: EPS: $0.02), while Earnings Per Share for the quarter totaled $0.03 (2025: EPS: $0.02). The twelve-month trailing LPS was $0.26 and the number of shares used in these calculations was 262,500,000.
Notably, CABROKERS’s stock price closed the trading period on August 12, 2026, at a price of $1.16.
Balance Sheet Highlights
The company’s assets totaled $1.38 billion (2025: $1.23 billion). The movement in total assets was primarily attributable to a $92.29 million (98%) increase in ‘Cash and bank balances’ amounting to $186.33 million (2025: $94.03 million) and a $78.45 million increase in ‘Receivables’ amounting to $823.48 million (2025: $745.03 million), partly offset by an 88% decline in ‘Investments at amortised cost’ to $6.78 million (2025: $57.47 million).
Shareholders’ equity was $363.08 million (2025: $450.59 million), representing a book value per share of $1.38 (2025: $1.72).
