Net International Reserves – February 2025

BOJ has reported that Jamaica’s Net International Reserves as at February 28, 2025 stood at US$5,473.05 million, reflecting a decrease of US$28.46 million when compared to the US$5,501.51 million reported at the end of January 2025.

Foreign Assets totalled US$5,522.47 million, US$28.27 million less than the US$5,550.74 million reported in January 2025.

‘Currency & Deposits’ held by the BOJ as at February 28, 2025 totalled US$3,269.16 million, reflecting a decrease of US$4.76 million compared to the US$3,273.92 million reported in January 2025.

‘Securities’ were valued at US$1,983.11 million; US$5.49 million less than the US$1,992.02 million reported at the end of January 2025. The country’s Special Drawing Rights decreased to US$234.40 million relative to the US$249.15 million recorded a month prior.

‘IMF Reserve Position’ increased to US$35.80 million from the US$35.66 million reported last month. Liabilities to the IMF increased by US$0.20 million to US$49.43 million against the US$49.23 million reported at the end of January 2025.

Presently, the country’s foreign exchange reserves are US$774.15 million, or 16% more than the US$4,698.90 million held by the BOJ at the end of February 2024. The current NIR supports approximately 45.54 weeks of goods imports and 29.15 weeks of goods and services imports.
