Net International Reserves – January 2026
BOJ has reported that Jamaica’s Net International Reserves as at January 31, 2026, stood at US$6,731.59 million, reflecting an increase of US$441.33 million when compared to the US$6,290.26 million reported at the end of December 2025.
Foreign Assets totalled US$6,744.64 million, US$441.45 million more than the US$6,303.19 million reported in December 2025.
‘Currency & Deposits’ held by the BOJ as at January 31, 2026, totalled US$3,581.01 million, reflecting an increase of US$29.33 million compared to the US$3,551.68 million reported in December 2025.
‘Securities’ were valued at US$2,919.30 million; US$412.02 million more than the US$2,507.28 million reported at the end of December 2025. The country’s Special Drawing Rights increased to US$206.53 million relative to the US$206.77 million recorded a month prior.
‘IMF Reserve Position’ increased to US$37.79 million from the US$37.46 million reported last month. Liabilities to the IMF increased to reach US$13.04 million, reflecting a US$0.12 million rise.
Presently, the country’s foreign exchange reserves are US$1,230.08 million, or 22.36% more than the US$5,501.51 million held by the BOJ at the end of January 2025. The current NIR supports approximately 55.83 weeks of goods imports and 36.06 weeks of goods and services imports.
