Net International Reserves – July 2025

BOJ has reported that Jamaica’s Net International Reserves as at July 31, 2025, stood at US$6,113.72 million, reflecting an increase of US$278.12 million when compared to the US$5,835.60 million reported at the end of June 2025.

Foreign Assets totalled US$6,142.50 million, US$277.72 million more than the US$5,864.78 million reported in June 2025.

‘Currency & Deposits’ held by the BOJ as at July 31, 2025, totalled US$3,398.23 million, reflecting an increase of US$168.75 million compared to the US$3,229.48 million reported in June 2025.

‘Securities’ were valued at US$2,477.91 million; US$112.72 million more than the US$2,365.19 million reported at the end of June 2025. The country’s Special Drawing Rights decreased to US$229.30 million relative to the US$232.53 million recorded a month prior.

‘IMF Reserve Position’ decreased to US$37.06 million from the US$37.58 million reported last month. Liabilities to the IMF decreased by US$0.41 million to US$28.78 million against the US$29.18 million reported at the end of June 2025.

Presently, the country’s foreign exchange reserves are US$1,045.93 million, or 21% more than the US$5,067.79 million held by the BOJ at the end of July 2024. The current NIR supports approximately 50.87 weeks of goods imports and 31.90 weeks of goods and services imports.
