Net International Reserves – November 2024

BOJ has reported that Jamaica’s Net International Reserves as at November 30, 2024 stood at US$5,408.51 million, reflecting a decrease of US$187.03 million when compared to the US$5,595.55 million reported at the end of October 2024.

Foreign Assets totalled US$5,475.56 million, US$187.94 million less than the US$5,663.50 million reported in October 2024.

‘Currency & Deposits’ held by the BOJ as at November 30, 2024 totalled US$3,431.58 million, reflecting an decrease of US$229.09 million compared to the US$3,660.67 million reported in October 2024.

‘Securities’ were valued at US$2,006.61 million; US$59.95 million more than the US$1,946.67 million reported at the end of October 2024. The country’s Special Drawing Rights decreased to US$1.43 million relative to the US$19.74 million recorded a month prior.

‘IMF Reserve Position’ decreased to US$35.94 million from the US$36.42 million reported last month. Liabilities to the IMF decreased by US$0.90 million to US$67.05 million against the US$67.95 million reported at the end of October 2024.

Presently, the country’s foreign exchange reserves are US$810.93 million, or 18% more than the US$4,597.58 million held by the BOJ at the end of November 2023. The current NIR supports approximately 43.53 weeks of goods imports and 28.53 weeks of goods and services imports.
