US and Iran Agree to Halt Attacking Each Other Ahead of Talks
The US and Iran have agreed to stop attacking each other before peace talks resume this week over the Strait of Hormuz and other issues, paving the way to end days of tit-for-tat attacks that tested a fragile truce.
A US official who spoke on condition of anonymity said technical talks are scheduled to continue on all aspects of a memorandum of understanding reached this month, adding that both sides will stand down for now and vessels can move freely.

Spain Lifts 2026 Economic-Growth Forecast Despite Iran War
Spain will continue to outperform the euro area’s largest economies, with the conflict in Iran expected to have only a limited impact, according to new government forecasts.
Gross domestic product will rise 2.6% in 2026 under the new outlook, which the cabinet is set to approve on Monday.

Japan’s Retail Sales Rise a Third Month on Wage Gains, Subsidies
Japan’s retail sales rose in May for a third month, powered by strong wage gains and government subsidies to ease the cost of living.
Sales increased 1.9% after an upwardly revised gain in April, the economy ministry reported on Monday.
