US Benchmark 10-Year Yield Briefly Hits Highest Since 2002
The US benchmark yield touched its highest level since 2002, the latest milestone in a monthslong selloff in global sovereign debt.
The yield on the 10-year Treasury note briefly rose above its 2007 peak to trade at 5.34% on Thursday.

UK Is First Big Economy With 6% Bond Yield Since Euro Crisis
The UK’s long-term borrowing costs hit 6% for the first time in almost three decades, making it the first Group of Seven economy to pay a rate that high since the euro crisis was raging in 2012.
The moves that took 30-year gilt yields to their highest since March 1998 coincided with a fresh slump in global bond markets, driven by concern spiking oil prices will reignite inflation.

Japan’s Biggest Firms Remain Confident Even as BOJ Raises Rates
Confidence among Japan’s largest firms remains elevated with sentiment among manufacturers rising to the highest level in more than eight years, a result that suggests the Bank of Japan can continue raising interest rates without buckling corporate optimism.
The sentiment index climbed to 24 in September from 22, improving for a sixth straight quarter, the BOJ’s quarterly Tankan business survey showed Thursday.
