RAWILL reports nine months net profit of $21.76 million

Unaudited Financials for the Nine Months Ended January 31, 2025:

R.A. Williams Distributors Limited (RAWILL) reported a 6% increase in revenue, totaling $1.19 billion for the nine months ended January 31, 2025, compared to $1.13 billion in the corresponding period last year. Revenue for the third quarter increased by 15%, closing at $438.90 million compared to $380.85 million for the comparable quarter of 2024.

Cost of sales amounted to $628.47 million (2024: $577.71 million), representing a 9% year-over-year increase. Consequently, gross profit increased by 2% to $564.91 million compared to $551.55 million for the nine months ended January 31, 2024. The company booked a gross profit of $204.09 million for the third quarter versus $203.91 million reported for the similar quarter of 2024.

Administrative and general expenses increased by 55%, closing at $304.75 million (2024: $196.29 million), while selling and distribution expenses decreased by 5% from $186.88 million in 2024 to $178.31 million in the period under review. As a result, total expenses for the nine months ended January 31, 2025, amounted to $483.05 million, a 26% increase relative to $383.16 million reported in 2024.

Operating profit for the nine months ended January 31, 2025, amounted to $81.85 million, a 51% decrease relative to $168.39 million reported in 2024. Operating profit for the third quarter amounted to $28.58 million (2024: $77.58 million). Other income totaled $158,609, a 22% increase from the corresponding period last year (2024: $130,276).

Finance costs for the nine months ended January 31, 2025, amounted to $52.82 million, a 71% increase relative to $30.92 million reported in 2024. Finance costs for the third quarter amounted to $14.04 million (2024: $8.76 million).

Profit before taxation for the nine months ended January 31, 2025, decreased by 79% to reach $29.19 million (2024: $137.60 million). Taxation for the nine months amounted to $7.43 million, a 68% decrease from the $23.39 million reported in 2024. For the third quarter, taxation was $412,040 (2024: $9.20 million).

Net profit amounted to $21.76 million (2024: $114.21 million). For the quarter, net profit closed at $14.17 million (2024: $59.65 million).

Consequently, earnings per share for the nine months amounted to $0.012 (2024: EPS: $0.071), while earnings per share for the quarter totaled $0.008 (2024: EPS: $0.037). The twelve-month trailing LPS was $0.004, and the number of shares used in these calculations was 2,000,000,000.

Notably, RAWILL’s stock price closed the trading period on March 14, 2025, at $0.74.

Balance Sheet Highlights:

The company’s assets totaled $1.44 billion (2024: $923.74 million). This increase was attributable to the right-of-use asset, which amounted to $298.12 million. Property, plant, and equipment also contributed to the increase, equating to $117.78 million (2024: $39.15 million).

Shareholders’ equity was $763.38 million (2024: $415.08 million), representing a book value per share of $0.39 (2024: $0.21).
