Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited (C&W) has received approval by the Tax Administration of Jamaica for C&W accounting terminal date to be changed to December 31st with effect from Year of Assessment 2016. In accordance with the Income Tax Act approval, C&W basis period for Years of Assessment 2016 and 2017 shall be as follows:
Year of Assessment Basis Period Due Date of Return
2016 April 1, 2016 – December 31, 2016 (months) March 15, 2017
2017 January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2017 (12 months) March 15, 2018
For subsequent Years of Assessment, C&W accounting period for Income tax purposes shall be twelve (12) months period, January 1 to December 31 and the corresponding return will be due on March 15 in the following year.
