Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited (SJ) has advised that further to the proposed acquisition of Sagicor Financial Corporation (SFC) by Alignvest Acquisition ll Corporation, SJ has advised that:

1)  The name of the ultimate parent shall change from Sagicor Financial Corporation to Sagicor Financial Company Limited and the latter shall be listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

2)  The transaction involves the shares in SFC, the ultimate parent of Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited. Accordingly, SJ does not expect that there will be any changes to the structure of Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited as a consequence of this transaction.

3) To the best of Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited’s knowledge, there is no intention at the current time for SFC to increase its shareholding in SJ.
