US Manufacturing and Trade Inventories and Sales up by 2.1%

The total value of distributive trade sales and manufacturing shipments for December 2021 was assessed at $1,717.2 billion, down 0.7 percent (0.1 percent) from November 2021 but up by 15.9 percent (0.6 percent) from December 2020. These numbers were adjusted for seasonal and trading day differences but not for price changes.

Inventories

Manufacturers’ and trade inventories for December were projected at $2,206.7 billion at the end of the month, up 2.1 percent (0.1 percent) from November 2021 and 10.5 percent (0.6 percent) from December 2020. These numbers were adjusted for seasonal and trading day differences but not for price changes.
