USA monthly retail sales – March 2022

Advance estimates of retail and food services sales in the United States for March 2022, adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences but not for price changes, were $665.7 billion, a 0.5%  increase from the previous month and a 6.9%  increase from March 2021. Total sales increased 12.9%  from January 2022 to March 2022 compared to the same time last year. The percent change from January 2022 to February 2022 was revised to 0.8% up from 0.3%.

Retail trade sales increased by 0.4%  from February 2022, and by 5.5% over the previous year. Gasoline stations increased 37.0%  from March 2021, while food services and drinking establishments increased 19.4%  from the previous year.
