Wigton Windfarm Limited (WIGTON) – Impact of COVID-19 on Business Operations

Wigton Windfarm Limited (WIGTON) has advised the Jamaica Stock Exchange that the COVID-19 pandemic will not significantly impact its operation.

“Wigton operates fixed price contracts for all three Power Purchase Agreements; all the energy generated from the wind farm is sold to Jamaica Public Service. Due to the impact of the pandemic on movement across borders, Wigton anticipates there will be delays in the arrival of its spare parts as a result of the closure of supplies’ facilities and ports in certain regions of the world. At this time Wigton is unable to quantify the cost that could arise from any delays of maintenance spares. The Company anticipates that the normal maintenance schedules will begin once countries commence opening up for business,” stated WIGTON.
