Unaudited financials for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026:
LASCO Financial Services Limited (LASF) for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, reported a 6% increase in income totalling $540.25 million compared to $508.94 million in the corresponding three months last year.
Other operating income amounted to $32.82 million (2025: $46.55 million), representing a decrease of 29% year-over-year, reflecting lower non-recurring items relative to the prior period.
Admin & other expenses were broadly flat, increasing marginally to $281.93 million (2025: $281.50 million), while selling and promotional costs increased by 12% from $188.64 million in 2025 to $211.84 million for the three months. As a result, Operating Expenses for the first quarter amounted to $493.77 million, a 5% increase relative to $470.15 million reported in 2025, generally in line with inflation.
LASF highlighted, “The diversified nature of the Group’s income streams continues to support stable revenue growth and reinforces our strategic focus on broadening customer engagement across both traditional and digital channels.”
Consequently, Profit from Operations for the three months amounted to $79.30 million, a 7% decrease relative to $85.34 million reported in 2025.
Finance Costs totalled $15.95 million, a 31% decrease from the corresponding period last year (2025: $23.24 million), reflecting continued scheduled repayment of borrowing obligations which has materially reduced the Group’s exposure to interest expense.
Profit Before Taxation for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, amounted to $63.35 million, a 2% increase relative to $62.10 million reported in 2025.
Taxation for the three months decreased by 17% to $17.80 million (2025: $21.58 million). As such, Net Profit for the three months amounted to $45.55 million, a 12% increase from the $40.52 million reported in 2025.
Consequently, Earnings Per Share for the three months amounted to $0.04 (2025: $0.03). The twelve-month trailing EPS was $0.07, and the number of shares used in these calculations was 1,280,227,726.
Notably, LASF’s stock price closed the trading period on August 10, 2026, at a price of $1.51, with a corresponding P/E 22.19x.
Balance Sheet Highlights
The company’s assets totalled $4.23 billion (2025: $4.31 billion), a 2% decline year-over-year. The movement in total assets was mainly due to a decrease in loans and other receivables of $134.80 million and a reduction in cash and bank balances of $154.33 million, partially offset by an increase in short-term deposits of $177.56 million and continued growth in intangible assets.
Shareholders’ equity was $2.46 billion (2025: $2.37 billion), representing a book value per share of approximately $1.92 (2025: $1.85), with the year-over-year improvement driven by the Company’s continued profitability and retention of earnings.
