US-Iran Strikes Extend to 10th Day as Houthis Threaten Ships
The US and Iran exchanged strikes for a 10th consecutive day even as mediators sought to revive a truce, while the Houthi militant group in Yemen threatened shipping in the Red Sea.
The US Central Command said it targeted Iranian military command centers, launch sites and air defenses overnight, and Iran attacked sites in Kuwait and Jordan, with Kuwait saying power and desalination plants were among those hit.
Europe:
Euro-Zone Banks Further Tighten Companies’ Credit Standards
Euro-zone banks tightened corporate credit standards further as they see higher risks due to geopolitical events including the Iran war.
Lenders also reported more rigid standards for mortgages, consumer credit and other lending to households, the European Central Bank said Tuesday in its second-quarter Bank Lending Survey.

China at Risk of 20% Youth Joblessness as Labor Distress Spreads
China’s unemployment among young people could be headed for levels last seen more than three years ago, as a record number of graduates prepare to enter the labor market at a time when AI is threatening to displace more entry-level jobs.
Surveyed unemployment in urban areas for those aged 16-24 came in at 14.9% last month, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics this week.
